چکیده

The study of small heat shock proteins in plant-pathogen interactions is a subject that has to be further investigated. While Hsp70 and Hsp90 participate in the defense response, the role of this small Hsps remains elusive. In this work we analyzed the expression of small Hsps in citrus canker and the bacterial spot of pepper as well as in the incompatible interactions of the bacterial pathogens that cause these diseases, Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri and Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria, with non-host plants. Our results show that although with different expression profiles, small Hsps are induced during both compatible and incompatible interactions giving light to the idea that these chaperones are components of the basal immune plant response.

Proteomic analysis of rice plasma membrane reveals proteins involved in early defense response to bacterial blight.

Plant plasma membrane (PM) proteins play important roles in signal transduction during defense response to an attacking pathogen. By using an improved method of PM protein preparation and PM-bound green fluorescent protein fusion protein as a visible marker, we conducted PM proteomic analysis of the rice suspension cells expressing the disease resistance gene Xa21, to identify PM components inv...

Quantitative nature of Arabidopsis responses during compatible and incompatible interactions with the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae.

We performed large-scale mRNA expression profiling using an Affymetrix GeneChip to study Arabidopsis responses to the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae. The interactions were compatible (virulent bacteria) or incompatible (avirulent bacteria), including a nonhost interaction and interactions mediated by two different avirulence gene-resistance (R) gene combinations. Approximately 2000 of ...

The Relationship between the Expression of Small Heat-Shock Proteins and Suppression of OCT4B1

Background: OCT4B1, a variant of OCT4, is expressed in both cancer cells and tissues. This variant has a main role in the regulation of both apoptotic and stress (heat-shock proteins) pathways. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of OCT4B1 silencing on the expression of small heat-shock proteins (sHSPs)in three human tumor cell lines. Methods:...

Gene Expression Profile in the Long-Living Lotus: Insights into the Heat Stress Response Mechanism

Lotus (Nelumbo Adans) is an aquatic perennial plant that flourished during the middle Albian stage. In this study, we characterized the digital gene expression signatures for China Antique lotus under conditions of heat shock stress. Using RNA-seq technology, we sequenced four libraries, specifically, two biological replicates for control plant samples and two for heat stress samples. As a resu...

Interaction-dependent gene expression in Mla-specified response to barley powdery mildew.

Plant recognition of pathogen-derived molecules influences attack and counterattack strategies that affect the outcome of host-microbe interactions. To ascertain the global framework of host gene expression during biotrophic pathogen invasion, we analyzed in parallel the mRNA abundance of 22,792 host genes throughout 36 (genotype x pathogen x time) interactions between barley (Hordeum vulgare) ...
